Overview

The Numbering Tool automates one of the most repetitive and time-consuming tasks in BIM design—numbering architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ELV elements in Revit models. Instead of manually assigning sequence numbers to architectural components, structural elements, ducts, pipes, fittings, equipment, electrical devices, or ELV components, the tool applies predefined logical patterns and project-specific rules to generate consistent and error-free numbering automatically. It recognizes element categories, system types, hierarchy, layout zones, levels, and discipline-specific requirements to apply numbering intelligently without manual intervention. Users can define numbering rules once and reuse them across multiple projects, helping maintain company standards and improve BIM coordination. Fully integrated with Revit’s parameter structure, the tool can update existing numbers, apply prefixes or suffixes, and synchronize numbering with schedules and tags in real time.
