Overview

Exporter takes sheets and views out of a Revit model and writes them to disk in batches, so issuing a drawing set is one run rather than one sheet at a time.

It opens with two lists: every sheet in the project, and the views that can be exported. Sheets arrive with their number, name, revision, size and scale already read off the title block; views arrive with their type and discipline, so you can sort and filter before ticking rows. Schedules, legends, renderings and walkthroughs are not on that list and cannot be exported this way. Selection is explicit - there is no active-view-only mode and no filter by level.

Three kinds of output are written: PDF, DWG and PNG images. PDFs come out one file per sheet, or merged into a single combined document. For DWG you can pick one of the export setups already defined in your model, so the layer mapping and line weights your office agreed on are the ones applied; with none picked, a built-in default is used.

Paper size is decided per sheet from the title block rather than fixed for the whole batch. A sheet with no title block, and anything larger than A0, comes out at A0.

Output names are built from a pattern rather than left to Revit. You assemble sheet and view fields - number, name, revision, size - into the name you want, with a preview as you build it.

There are two ways to produce a PDF. The default uses Revit's own export. The other prints through a PDF printer installed on the machine - Bullzip first, then Microsoft Print to PDF - and says so if neither is there. On that second route, a view Revit cannot print is skipped without a note.

Sheet scale can be stamped onto each sheet in a 'Scale Auto' field, taken from the largest viewport on that sheet. Either permanently, or only for the run and put back afterwards. The restore is a second write rather than an undo, so an export interrupted part-way can leave the stamped value in place.

A set-up you use often can be saved under a name and reloaded later, as a configuration or as a profile.

Everything happens on your machine and nothing is sent anywhere. Output goes wherever you point it, a network folder included. If one item fails, Revit names it and the run carries on. The progress bar is decorative - it does not track how far along the export really is.

What it does not do: the format list also shows IFC, NWC, FBX and gbXML, and none of those are written. Tick only those and you are told no format was selected. Treat this as a PDF, DWG and PNG tool.
