Overview

Dynamic Column Rebar Tool automates end-to-end reinforcement modeling for concrete columns in Revit. Select any set of column elements—rectangular, circular, slanted, or stacked—and the tool generates longitudinal bars, ties/spirals, hooks, laps/couplers, and confinement zones based on your predefined templates and local standards. Covers (top/bottom/side), bar diameters, spacing rules, tie leg counts, seismic detailing, and lap lengths are calculated from code presets (e.g., Eurocode 2, ACI 318, BS). Logic adapts to story heights, offsets, and interactions at beams/slabs/walls to avoid clashes, while respecting openings and edge conditions. It names/part-marks bars, creates bend schedules, and tags views automatically, producing consistent shop-ready documentation. Batch processing lets you update hundreds of columns in one run; change the template and all rebar updates with traceable revisions. Built-in QA highlights noncompliance, missing covers, or spacing violations, and a visual preview shows the cage before placement. Save hours per building while improving consistency, safety, and constructability.
