Overview
The Cable Options Tool automates cable routing from electrical fixtures (sockets, panels, equipment) to cable trays and generates constructible conduit paths in Revit. Using multi-criteria pathfinding, it proposes optimal routes that respect clearance rules, bend radii, maximum pull lengths, and coordination constraints with architecture, structure, and MEP systems. The tool classifies circuits, groups loads, and assigns cable types based on voltage, phase, and usage. It then calculates cable tray fill ratios along every segment, flags overfill conditions, and suggests alternative paths or tray sizes to maintain compliance. Designers can preview route options, compare lengths and estimated voltage-drop impacts, and commit the preferred solution with a single click. Deliverables include auto-modeled conduits, updated tray utilization, synchronized parameters, and schedules/BOQs ready for documentation. Result: faster coordination, fewer clashes, and code-aligned cable management without repetitive manual drafting.
